Fabio Capello has shared his take on the schedule for the 2026-27 season, with AC Milan have quite a rough start.

Yesterday, the draw for the 2026-27 season schedule took place and for Milan, a tough start was the outcome. Torino away, Venezia at home, and then Juventus away. The middle game there is a nice to have, but we all know that the Rossoneri have struggled in Turin lately.
As such, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport at the event (see photo at the bottom), the legendary manager Fabio Capello said that it could be difficult for Milan. Especially since they are already delayed in building the squad, not to mention the management, for next season.
Milan have their debut away against Torino, then two away games against Juventus and Lazio in the first four games. Tough start…
“Exactly. If we add that Milan are currently without a CEO, a technical director, a sporting director, and a coach, it’s hard to imagine them already at the top of their game at the start.
“Not to mention that they’re the team with the most international players at the World Cup, ten in total, although we’ll have to see how many of Maignan, Modric, Leao, Rabiot, and the others will still be Rossoneri players in two or three months.”
Which team got the best fixture list among the big ones?
“Perhaps Juventus. In the first ten rounds, they have two truly big matches, against Milan and Napoli, but both at home. And even the matches against Atalanta and Lazio, which should be taken with a pinch of salt, will be at home. This could be a factor in a flying start.”
And the worst?
“I’d say Napoli. They have Como, Inter, Bologna, and Fiorentina in the first five matchdays, and in the next five, they will face Roma and Juventus.”
Juventus and Milan, moreover, will play on Thursdays in the Europa League: could this complicate their league career?
“Definitely. In the Champions League, you play on Tuesdays or Wednesdays and have days to prepare for the next match in Serie A. If, on the other hand, you play away, for example in Azerbaijan on Thursday evening, returning to Italy only at night, and then play on Sunday afternoon in the league, that means you only have Saturday to seriously prepare for the match.
“The problem arises especially when you, playing in the Europa League, face a team that played in the Champions League one or two days earlier.”
