CF: Milan’s 2024-25 wage bill broken down – highest earners and where new signings rank

AC Milan’s wage bill is the third-highest in Serie A behind their two main rivals, and a report has published a full breakdown of the players’ salaries.

Calcio e Finanza publish the information on squad costs at the end of every window (compare with last year here) starting with an overview. The combined gross salaries of all players participating in Serie A this season amount to €1.06bn, in line with the total for the 2023-24 season.

The data could undergo small variations in the next few days in the case of incoming or outgoing market operations (e.g. signing of players at the end of their contracts or sales to countries where the market is still open).

The highest earner in the Milan squad in terms of net salary is Rafael Leao at €5m per year excluding bonuses, which comes to €6.55m gross with the Growth Decree in effect. Alvaro Morata is on €4.5m net but doesn’t get any tax relief, so his €8.325m gross is the highest figure in that column.

Ismael Bennacer earns €4m net per year from €7m gross, and the other players to earn that much or more are Theo Hernandez, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Samuel Chukwueze and Divock Origi.

Mike Maignan’s €2.8m net yearly earnings will have to go up if he is to renew, while there are other interesting figures like Malick Thiaw being on less than €1m and Tijjani Reijnders getting €1.7m.
