CM: Background on Milan’s pursuit of midfielder now eyed by Liverpool and Juventus

Manu Kone is now a player in demand given how impressive he has been for Borussia Mönchenglabdach, but he could have been plying his trade for AC Milan instead.

According to Calciomercato.com, the profile of Manu Kouadio Koné is rapidly climbing positions in the list of Cristiano Giuntoli’s targets to come in and strengthen Juve’s midfield, given his tactical intelligence and his skill set.

The report recalls that it was back in January 2021 that Borussia Mönchenglabdach concluded the operation to sign Kone from Toulouse in an €8m operation, allowing the then-19-year-old to remain on loan at the French club until the end of the season.

Milan had worked for months with the agents of the Frenchman who was reported by the head of the scouting area Geoffrey Moncada, but Toulouse preferred to accept the offer from the Bundesliga side because it was better economically and they kept him on loan.

Konè is now a permanent presence in the starting XI for Mönchengladbach and his performances for them have not gone unnoticed either.

Liverpool have also been following him for some time, while Juve have enquired and his value is €25m, triple what he cost two years ago.
