According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Milan have been in negotiations with Bennacer’s entourage over the extension of his current contract, which is due to expire in 2024 after he signed a five-year deal upon joining from Empoli in summer 2019.
A draft agreement was even found over the terms of the extension as the parties were happy with €3m net per season plus bonuses to extend it until June 2026. However, the player has asked for time to understand RedBird Capital’s project and what the club have in mind moving forward.
The Rossoneri management want to make sure the Algerian is satisfied in his demands to renew, and there will be a new meeting at the end of the month between the parties to try and reach the so-called ‘white smoke’.
