CM: Brest star wants Milan move – price set amid competition from three clubs

AC Milan are pushing to sign another central defender after Matteo Gabbia’s return from his loan spell at Villarreal, and a report claims that one of their targets wants to join.

Calciomercato.com are reporting that while Jan-Carlo Simic’s growth reassures for the future and Gabbia is back to bolster the numbers of the defence, it does not change the plans for the management who are working to give Stefano Pioli another option.

Directors Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio believe that they have identified the right profile in Lilian Brassier of Brest. The 24-year-old is not just liked by Milan though, as Monaco – who have begun talks – are keen as well as Porto and Leverkusen.

The Rossoneri have already received the approval of Brassier who is pushing to start a new adventure in Italy which would see him join his compatriots Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud too.

The agreement on the contractual terms now seems to be a mere formality, however the discussion with Brest is more complicated because the first offer of a loan with option to buy did not ignite the enthusiasm of the Breton club.

Brest are having a dream season as they are currently fourth in the Ligue 1 table, four points behind second-placed Nice. This is why the intention would be to keep Brassier at least until the end of the season.

However, the player’s will could play a decisive role in this negotiation. His valuation is around €11-12m, but could rise given the mounting interest.
