CM: Latest on Romagnoli’s future – Milan’s valuation and truth about Barcelona-Coutinho swap

Rumours have sprung up suggesting that AC Milan could send Alessio Romagnoli in a swap deal to Barcelona, perhaps involving Philippe Coutinho.

In his latest for Calciomercato.com, Daniele Longo confirms that Romagnoli has a future still to be decided given that the Milan captain has a contract expiring in 2022 and there have still been no renewal proposals from Milan. The Rossoneri management could therefore take into consideration any offers exceeding €10m but nothing concrete has arrived just yet.

In the last few hours there have been rumours about a possible move to Barcelona for Romagnoli, a hypothesis that his agent Mino Raiola tried to probe at the beginning of the summer but without any luck.

The LaLiga giants are admirers of Romagnoli but are working on other targets while Milan would only like money for the 26-year-old, and there is no possibility of an exchange with Coutinho. The Brazilian attacking midfielder was offered to Massara and Maldini  but they were not interested.

At the moment, the most likely hypothesis for Romagnoli is to stay at Milan for the last season of his contract, where he will want to try to regain a spot in the starting line-up and perhaps earn an extension offer.
