CM: Maldini and Massara identify €15m Bologna star as perfect replacement for Meite

AC Milan are one of the most interested clubs in Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg ahead of the summer window, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Svanberg continues to impress top clubs who are watching him and against Lazio he provided another excellent performance that allowed Bologna to take home three precious points against the Biancocelesti. He had the difficult task of keeping Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto quiet, and that’s exactly what he did.

It is not surprising therefore that over the last few months there have been different clubs interested in the 22-year-old such as Juventus and Inter plus Southampton in January, but the most interested spectator is undoubtedly Milan.

Svanberg’s name has been on Maldini and Massara’s wish list for some time, but the consistency of performances at high levels has raised his price and now his profile is one of the most attentive ones in view of next summer to reinforce the midfield, given that Soualiho Meite is unlikely to be bought.

The Swede convinces the management because of his physical, technical and psychological characteristics, but Bologna are not willing to cut his €15m asking price. Maldini and Massara are preparing the moves for the midfield of the future and Svanberg “is circled in red on the list of goals”.
