AC Milan have made club captain Alessio Romagnoli available ahead of the summer window as a renewal looks unlikely, according to a report.

Despite having been one of the club’s better and more consistent servants since arriving back in 2015 from Roma, the last few months have not been the best for Romagnoli with several clouds currently hanging over him.

Firstly, his performances have dipped dramatically as the Italy international has struggled for form in 2021 thus far. Secondly, he is battling injuries and is currently on the sidelines with a muscle problem. Finally, his contract expires in June 2022 meaning his future is reaching a natural crossroads anyway, and his agent Mino Raiola is a tough negotiator of course.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Milan are happy to let Romagnoli leave this summer under the right conditions and the possibility of a swap deal with Juventus involving Federico Bernardeschi – led by agent Mino Raiola – cannot be excluded.

Regarding Romagnoli, Raiola is apparently asking for a big pay rise if his client is to renew with the Rossoneri and while the club appreciate what he has done since arriving, a salary hike is not something they are keen on.
