CM: Mönchengladbach confirm Kone’s imminent exit – Milan waiting for sales to pounce

Borussia Monchengladbach began their 2024-25 Bundesliga season with a 3-2 home defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, and Manu Kone played no part in the game.

As Calciomercato.com recall, Kone was presented with a gift on the field by the club after France reached the final of the men’s football at the Olympics, but he was not among the Mönchengladbach players who faced Xabi Alonso’s champions.

Not only did he not appear in the starting line-up, he was not even on the bench and it is a clue that was confirmed in the official statement with which the club announced through a social media that the player has not been called up for reasons related to the mercato.

“Manu Koné is not part of the team today due to a potential departure from the club,” it reads. Unequivocal words, which suggest that the separation between Borussia and Koné is something imminent.

Milan and Roma are the two clubs that have been most strongly linked. The Rossoneri remain attentive to the situation, knowing that with the sales of Yacine Adli and Ismael Bennacer (the first did not leave for Parma, the second did but has offers from Saudi Arabia) they could make a bid.

According to Sky Germany, Mönchengladbach have not yet received official offers for their midfielder, who for his part has expressed a clear desire to change clubs. If a bid of €20m comes forward, everyone will be satisfied.
