Baturina attracted attention with his performances for Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb, and it earned him a big money move to Como. It was reported that the club by the lake will pay up to €30m for him, and he signed a five-year deal.
The 22-year-old had a hand in condemning Milan to a play-off spot in the Champions League last season. Matteo Gabbia’s slip in possession allowed Baturina to stroll through and finish under Maignan one-on-one, and they would eventually win 2-1.
The new Como playmaker gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he also touched on Milan-related topics, given his past against them and the fact they have signed his compatriot. MilanPress relayed his comments.
What do you remember about your goal against Milan?
“Simple, I stole the ball from a defender and scored. A truly special moment for me, especially since it was the Champions League.”
Will Modric make the difference again?
“Yes, Luka is a great player and Milan is a great club suited to him. I can’t wait to watch him on the pitch.”
