It seems as though the centre-forward department is the elephant in the room for Milan at the moment, due to the fact they have two strikers both under contract until June in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Mandzukic and at the time of writing it is unknown whether either will remain for next season.

According to a report from il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) this morning though, Milan have no intention of losing their leader Ibrahimovic, who turns 40 in October.

However, the paper acknowledges that he will not be able to play all the time at that age and given the increase in physical problems he has had, so the management have an idea. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are discussing the purchase of a young and strong striker, something that they deem ‘essential’ to ensure there is depth in that position.
