CorSera: Milan with a mountain to climb but UCL group remains open

Following the heavy defeat against Paris Saint-Germain last night, AC Milan’s path to the knockout stages of the Champions League is now a lot tougher. Although the group remains open, they have a mountain to climb.

Milan are currently last in the ‘group of death’ with two points and zero goals scored. Three games remain, with PSG up next at San Siro, and the Rossoneri almost need to win all of them to qualify for the round of 16.

As highlighted by Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri’s path to the next stage is looking very tough. Not just because of the situation in the standings, but also because the right mentality has been lacking in the competition so far.

Milan will need to be a completely different team in the next three games, as the newspaper concludes. Dortmund and Newcastle are just two points ahead as things stand, but this doesn’t really matter if the Rossoneri cannot find the back of the net.

On Sunday, they will take on Napoli away from home and it’s a chance to bounce back from two tough defeats.
