Di Marzio: Milan attempting to sign Al-Ahli defender Demiral on loan – the latest

AC Milan have set their sights on the former Atalanta and Juventus defender Merih Dermiral for the defence. According to a report, negotiations are underway to secure the current Al-Ahli man on loan until the summer.

Milan are struggling at the back with several injuries and yesterday’s 2-2 draw against Bologna was another confirmation of this. With just a few days left of the transfer window, the Rossoneri could try to sign a centre-back to bolster the squad.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada have set their sights on the former Serie A man Merih Demiral for the defence. The Turkish international is currently owned by the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli and the Rossoneri are attempting to sign him on loan until June.

However, as the report continues, the negotiations are very complicated for two reasons. Demiral has a very high salary currently, which is be that Milan cannot match, and Al-Ahli also haven’t shown any signs of being willing to accept a loan.

Milan will likely try until the end as the interest is concrete, but Rossoneri fans should not hold out hope about this one. It’s also possible that there are a few other targets that they are working on, and not just Demiral.
