Speaking on his nightly sky segment ‘Calciomercato L’Originale’ (via Radio Rossonera), Di Marzio confirmed that Milan’s intention is to make ‘a last minute offer’ for Taremi.
It remains to be seen whether Porto will accept it, because he was a started for them against Rio Ave last night and they believe they can get €25m from his sale despite being 10 months away from his contract deadline.
Porto are a ‘very tough customer’ when it comes to negotiations, but Milan want to try because they know that with a one-year contract, in the final days of the transfer market, things can change.
The journalist states that the bid could come on Tuesday, but it is also possible that the management wait until the very end of the window in the hopes Porto ‘capitulate and give the go-ahead for Taremi to leave’.
He has ‘always been Pioli’s target’ since the start of the window, and Di Marzio once again reiterated that Milan ‘are betting on the player having a one-year contract’.
Four days from the end of the mercato they will present a lower offer than €25m, hoping that Porto understand that they would get a good amount. Around €15m plus bonuses to get to €18m is better than nothing next June.
