La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Rossoneri need to pay about €5m in order to sign Messias permanently from Crotone after a season in which he scored six goals in all competitions and gradually earned the starting spot from Alexis Saelemaekers.

Monza are a potential player in this situation, though. They have been promoted to Serie A for the first time in 110 years of existence under the guidance of Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani – who together won 31 trophies at Milan – and they want Messias as they aim to stay in the division.

The Brazilian is in the good graces of Maldini and Massara so he could be bought outright, but the Rossoneri are looking around at other names like Zaniolo and De Ketelaere, while the situation of Saelemaekers remains in the balance.

Messias costs just over €5m, but Milan are hoping for a discount from Crotone and if they get one then the management might just pull the trigger. Monza, therefore, will have to wait.
