CF: The exact figures of Milan’s signings, sales, bonuses and loan deals in 2021-22

AC Milan’s financial statements for the 2021-22 year were approved yesterday by the shareholders’ meeting, and some information has emerged regarding the figures of transfer activity.

Calcio e Finanza (via MilanLive) have presented the figures of all the signings and sales that Milan made in 2021-22, a year which ended with a loss of €66.5m which was almost €30m less than the €96.4m loss recorded in the 2020-21 season.

The purchases reached a total of €47.7m while the total value of the sales came to €9.5m, while there are write-downs of €8m and amortisation which amounted to €62.6m.

We start with a look at the purchases and how much was spent for each:

➤ Yacine Adli: 8,500,000 euros
➤ Fodè Ballo-Toure: 5,405,956 euros
➤ Olivier Giroud: 2,849,475 euros
➤ Marko Lazetic: 4,526,000 euros
➤ Mike Maignan: 15,332,479 euros
➤ Antonio Mirante: 0 euros
➤ Fikayo Tomori: 31,606,738 euros
➤ Sandro Tonali: 14,500,000 euros

In the period taken into consideration, the Rossoneri saw the cost of several of its players increase, thanks to bonuses agreed at the time of their acquisitions.

➤ Mattia Caldara: 870,000 euros
➤ Theo Hernandez: 1,250,000 euros
➤ Pierre Kalulu: 100,000 euros
➤ Mike Maignan: 1,016,575 euros

With regards the costs for the players purchased on loan, these amount to a total of €7.443m, almost €4m less than in the 2020-21 financial year.

Looking at sales, Milan generated a capital gain of €5.57m in 2021-22, quite substantially lower than the €20.185m received in the 2020-21 financial year. In fact, the only capital gain relates to the sale of Jens Petter Hauge for €7.5m euros, which generated a gain of €4.81m.

In addition, Milan collected €1.660m from the loan sales of players, mainly relating to Hauge himself (later bought permanently by Eintracht), and other minor transactions involving Alessandro Sala (Renate) and Luis Capanni (Viterbese).
