Footmercato: Milan the latest team to enquire about OGC Nice star

AC Milan have joined Juventus in the race to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice this summer, according to a report from France.

According to Footmercato, Todibo decided last summer to do a third year with Nice, becoming a French international and one of the best defenders in the league, but he seems to have decided now is the right time to move on.

Proof of his imminent departure is the active search for his replacement by Nice director Florian Maurice but there still needs to be a buyer lined up. Nonetheless, big European clubs are circling such as Bayer Leverkusen (in case of Tapsoba’s sale) and Borussia Dortmund.

However it is Italy and England that are currently the hottest tracked. Juventus are very interested and have already made contact with the player’s entourage, but they need to free up some cash to really go on the offensive.

Milan – who were already following the player during the most recent winter window – are not letting go of Todibo either and have asked for information, but are waiting to see if Fikayo Tomori or Malick Thiaw leave before they get serious.

In England, West Ham have shown interest, as have Aston Villa. A club whose name has not been released is also in the running. The end of the Euro and the resumption of training at most European clubs should speed things up.
