From Spain: Defender accepts Milan renewal as Raiola’s plan to engineer Barcelona move fails

Agent Mino Raiola has offered his client Alessio Romagnoli to Barcelona ahead of the summer window, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) recently reported how contacts for the extension of Romagnoli’s contract – set to expire in June 2022 – have started. His current salary is €3.5million net per season and his agent Mino Raiola seems to be expecting an increase that will lead his client to earn a figure close to €6m.

If there is no progress in the talks in the next few months, it can not be ruled out that Milan decide to sell their captain in the summer transfer window as the Rossoneri cannot afford to enter next season with the 26-year-old on an expiring contract.

Spanish outlet DonBalon are reporting that Raiola has wasted no time offering him to various teams, the first being Barcelon.. He is aware of the need that the Catalan side have to add a new centre-back and so he put the name of the Italian international on the table.

However, he does not attract the interest of Barca manager Ronald Koeman who is convinced that there are much more attractive options elsewhere. Not only that, but the report adds that Romagnoli has now accepted an offer from Milan in the last 24 hours, once it became clear that he will not be able to land at the Camp Nou.
