GdS: Milan will not only invest in a striker – the other positions and targets

The AC Milan management are aware that the striker signing is the one they will have to invest most in and get right this summer, but other positions will be addressed too.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) this morning talks about how Milan could well have a summer budget of €130m to work with in order to strengthen the squad and challenge Inter for the title next season, and €40-50m of that should go on a new centre-forward.

While the likes of Joshua Zirkzee, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres continue to hover in the Rossonero orbit, Geoffrey Moncada and his team are aware that other positions will need some work too.

A further percentage of revenue will be invested in the midfield, for example. The paper claims that Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad – who is a playmaker predominantly – is a profile the club admire, but there is competition from Juventus to beat.

Then, another central defender will be signed too. Lilian Brassier of Brest and Maxence Lacroix of Wolfsburg are the main candidates at the moment as per the paper, because the gap to Inter cannot just be closed with the arrival of more goals: they must be kept out too.
