GdS: Probable Milan XI to face Cagliari – key duo return but selection crisis deepens

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is still no closer to being able to field his first choice starting line-up and will be forced into changes for the trip to Cagliari.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), Milan will leave for Sardinia without the suspended Rafael Leao, the injured duo of Matteo Gabbia and Ismael Bennacer, plus the COVID-positive quartet of Rade Krunic, Ante Rebic, Hakan Calhanoglu and Theo Hernandez.

Pioli though will be able to console himself with the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the starting XI and with the return of Alexis Saelemaekers on the right wing.

Gianluigi Donnarumma will be in goal protected by a back four of Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli and Diogo Dalot, with Franck Kessie and Sandro Tonali ahead of them.

Samu Castillejo, Brahim Diaz and Jens Petter Hauge will make up the trio supporting Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the paper reports.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Dalot; Kessie, Tonali; Castillejo, Diaz, Hauge; Ibrahimovic.
