GdS: Probable XIs for Milan vs. Napoli – three key man back for Pioli; five absences for both

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli will welcome three key players back into his starting XI for tonight’s game against Napoli, it is claimed.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reports how Milan will be without Calabria, Romagnoli, Bennacer, Ibrahimovic and Mandzukic for the game against Gattuso’s side. In a 4-2-3-1 Donnarumma will play between the posts, with Kjaer and Tomori the centre-back pairing, Dalot at right-back and Theo Hernandez at left-back.

Kessie and Tonali are expected to be the midfield pairing, with Calhanoglu ahead of them in the playmaker role. Rebic is expected to start wide on the left with Castillejo on the right and Leao as the centre-forward.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Dalot, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo; Tonali, Kessie; Castillejo, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Leao.

Gattuso has to do without five important players in Ghoulam (season over), Petagna, Manolas, Lozano and now Rrahmani too. They will also use a 4-2-3-1 with Maksimovic and Koulibaly in the centre of defence. Politano and Insigne will be the wingers, and Osimhen should be preferred to Mertens.

Probable Napoli XI (4-2-3-1): Ospina; Di Lorenzo, Maksimovic, Koulibaly, Hysaj; Demme, F. Ruiz; Politano, Zielinski, Insigne; Osimhen.
