There were few players worthy of praise during last night’s 1-1 draw against Porto at San Siro as Milan’s chances of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League virtually evaporated.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Sandro Tonali was the best player for Milan against the Portuguese side as he deserved a rating of 7 out of 10 for playing both with his head but also his muscles, wrestling back some control in the midfield and ‘never losing his bearings’.
Ciprian Tatarusanu and substitute Pierre Kalulu also drew praise and got a marking of 6.5 as the former kept Milan in it with a couple of vital stops while the latter essentially got the equalising goal and a precious point.
A 6 was given to Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez, Oliver Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic but all the other players were marked down as Alessio Romagnoli, Ismael Bennacer and Alexis Saelemaekers got a 5.5 and Brahim Diaz got a 5.
Davide Calabria was the worst player on the pitch according to the paper as he got a 4.5: “always in trouble, always chasing.”
