Spurs and Atletico Madrid have both made enquiries about signing AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek this month, a report claims.
Reliable outlet The Athletic claimed earlier in the week that Piatek is attracting interest from a number of clubs in England, including the likes of Manchester United, Spurs, Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham United.
However, the latest from Spanish outlet AS suggests that Spurs appear to have sorted their cover for the injured Harry Kane as Willian José is set to sign from Real Sociedad in the next 48 hours.
The Brazilian striker, who has a €70m release clause, was even left out of Sociedad’s squad for their Copa Del Rey game against Espanyol on Wednesday.
According to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport reported Nicolo Schira, Spurs have in fact made a loan enquiry for Piatek despite seemingly closing in on a deal for Jose, while Atletico Madrid have too.
Milan’s stance is clear: they want a permanent sale, but may accept a bid in the region of €28m despite the aforementioned Athletic report claiming €38m is the asking price.
