CM: Grinta, versatility and a past in Verona – Pioli considers Krunic a vital resource

Rade Krunic has always managed to stay somewhat under the radar since his arrival at AC Milan back in the summer of 2019, but he has been a precious resource for Stefano Pioli.

Milan travel to face Hellas Verona at the Stadio MarcAntonio Bentegodi knowing that a win would leave them requiring just 4 points from their last two games of the season. Calciomercato.com report how last season’s victory in the same game had Krunic’s stamp.

He scored the goal to make it 1-0 with a splendid free-kick before Diogo Dalot’s second half goal to widen the margin. This season, the Bosnia international has been Pioli’s joker or ‘all-rounder’, occupying four different roles including playmaker, winger, central midfielder and even full-back.

Either from the first minute or more likely while the game is in progress, Krunic will once again hope to contribute to the cause against Verona in a big way. He was among the best on the field even as a substitute against Fiorentina as well as Rebic for the grinta he showed, and with such efforts Pioli will continue to rely on him.
