Many would have struggled if they were given the cards that Jashari was dealt. Ultimately, the youngster has had it tough for a player who has only just moved to a new country. However, he has continued to fight.
The first few months have been tough. A training injury saw him miss several months, whilst he has been reserved as a back-up for one of the best midfielders in football history. Of course, a chance to learn, but also a blockade to him playing.
Jashari like Modric
Despite this, Jashari has kept pushing, and now Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that he is showing Luka Modric-like signs.
In front of Tom Brady, the Swiss played an inch-perfect ball to Rafael Leao, who converted spectacularly. An inch-perfect pass, and a crowning moment on what was a great performance, where he filled in for Modric at times, whilst also progressing and making his own plays.
He came with the weight of being the €34 million man, whom the Rossoneri had hunted for all summer. Now, he is fulfilling that promise, whilst also showing the maturity (and quality) to play alongside Modric, without really ever looking out of place.
Promising signs, indeed.
