Kalulu, Thiaw and Tomori injured: When the Milan trio should be back

AC Milan and Stefano Pioli are currently without their three main centre-backs and will thus have to reinforce the squad in January. Many of the fans are wondering when the trio will be back, though, so let’s take a look.

The players in question are, of course, Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori. The latter sustained an injury in the 2-2 draw against Salernitana and with that, Milan hit rock bottom as explained by Carlo Pellegatti.

Simon Kjaer and the youngster Jan-Carlo Simic are the only centre-backs currently at Pioli’s disposal, which says a lot about the situation. Below, we take a look at the injured trio and when they each should be back in action.

Kalulu: He underwent surgery at the very start of November and the recovery time is around four months. In other words, Milan expect to have him back at the beginning of March, and Milan-Empoli on March 10th could perhaps be his comeback game.

Thiaw: He at least managed to avoid surgery, following the hamstring injury, but the recovery will take some time. The German international could be back at Stefano Pioli’s at the start of February, and perhaps for Milan-Napoli on February 11th.

Tomori: The Englishman has been ruled out for two months due to the hamstring injury. He could perhaps be back for Milan-Atalanta on February 25th, or the second leg against Stade Rennais on February 22nd if we are lucky.
