MN: Kalulu and Tomori jewels of Milan’s strategy but another quality addition is needed

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli and the management are enjoying the exploits of Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori, and the partnership they have formed.

MilanNews writes how the Rossoneri have got an impressive run of clean sheets going having kept Inter (Coppa Italia), Napoli, Empoli, Cagliari and Bologna at bay. Few expected this without Simon Kjaer available and Alessio Romagnoli struggling with physical problems too, but the young duo have really stepped up.

Paolo Maldini and Pioli hope that the Kalulu-Tomori duo can represent two safe bets to come. They are two symbols of the project too because the Englishman was proof that investing a big sum on a young players can pay off, while the Frenchman arrived for less than €500k and demonstrated how proficient the scouting department is.

Despite this, the idea is to have sign another player so as to have three strong options in the squad for next year to alternate plus another player, and the return of Kjaer, then a player from the academy can be kept as the fifth defender.

Lille’s Sven Botman is the number one target and Milan have been working on the deal for some time, but it will not be easy to lower the economic claims of the French club.
