It was initially expected that Milan would be without Loftus-Cheek for around two months. However, the Englishman has been progressing well, and reports recently suggested that he may be back much sooner.
Now, that information has come true.
Loftus-Cheek back in the mix
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews24), the midfielder has soared back from his injury and he is ready to go once again. Described as a ‘fundamental pawn’ in Allegri’s system, the news will bring great joy to the Italian, who hopes to pile pressure on Inter next week.
It will not be a case of returning as normal, though. Instead, the former Chelsea man will be wearing a special jaw protection, just to ensure that he does not do any damage. After all, it will still be a little vulnerable.
Nevertheless, given that it was not a physical injury, he will not have lost any fitness, and he actually competed against the Milan Futuro team on Saturday. In other words, assurances have been given by the medical team, and he appears to have passed the physical test.
Allegri has another piece back available.
