Milan welcomed Ruben Loftus-Cheek back to training yesterday, finally following the serious injury he sustained against Parma in the clash with Corvi. The Englishman had suffered a facial trauma, resulting in a fractured alveolar process in his jaw, needing an operation.

The recovery time post-surgery was expected to be eight weeks, but the Rossoneri player has practically halved that time and was photographed with a smile on his face at the training centre yesterday.

Allegri also smiling

As Tuttosport (via MilanPress) add, Before his injury, Allegri was relying on Loftus-Cheek and Christopher Nkunku to lead the attack. The English midfielder even scored useful goals too, breaking the deadlock against both Bologna and Pisa.

His return will need to be managed carefully, and he’ll most likely be on the bench against Napoli. He’ll obviously be protected by a special device, which will keep him away from dangerous blows that could reopen the wound.

However, the former Chelsea man is making it clear he’s ready to try and be there against Napoli, which is good news for Allegri. RLC has already played as a midfielder, a second striker and even as a wing-back this season, showing his tactical importance.
