Messaggero: Lazio president Lotito personally leading attempts to sign Romagnoli

AC Milan are at risk of losing defender and club captain Alessio Romagnoli to a team within Serie A, according to a report.

Today’s edition of the Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero (via MilanNews) writes that Lazio have taken a keen interest in signing Romagnoli, and they are boosted by the fact that the 27-year-old is actually a boyhood fan of the club despite his Roma past.

Claudio Lotito, the president of Lazio, is actually working personally to work to bring Romagnoli to the Biancoceleste on a free transfer. The Lazio chief is strongly convinced by the idea and is pushing ahead on the possible operation.

What must not be seen is whether there is a counter-move from Milan, who might act with a bit more urgency if they know they are going to lose such an influential dressing room figure to another top half team in Serie A.
