MN: Maldini and Massara eyeing a new striker – one name ‘among the most popular’

The AC Milan management know that they will soon have to invest in a new centre-forward for the future, according to a report.

Pietro Mazzara’s column for MilanNews talks about how Divock Origi – after getting off the mark with a goal and a fantastic performance against Monza – could well overtake Olivier Giroud in the striker hierarchy sooner rather than later because of his physicality and technical ability.

During the summer transfer window it was decided to go for Origi on a free transfer to compliment a department already consisting of two veteran centre-forwards in Giroud (36) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (41).

However, the same programmatic logic will be used next summer too as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara know that another younger striker will be needed, and Chelsea’s Armando Broja ‘remains among the most popular’ names on the wish list of the two directors as he continues to struggle for consistent playing time.
