CM: Milan’s offer for Schalke defender is take it or leave it – focus on Botman remains

AC Milan will not raise their bid for Malick Thiaw and will need Schalke 04 to reconsider their stance, a report claims, meaning a centre-back may not arrive.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan have put forward a bid worth €6m with bonuses for the German U21 international but it has not yet been accepted and it will not be raised by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, who deem it to be a fair bid.

The amount is still on the table, if Schalke were to think again and open to the idea of selling Thiaw for a price a bit below their internal valuation of the former Borussia Monchengladbach academy man.

Regarding other avenues, Milan have no intention of signing any defender on loan in the next four days. Instead, there remains very high concentration on closing a deal for Sven Botman with Lille ahead of the summer.
