GdS: Messias has convinced Pioli – the role he sees for the Brazilian compared to Saelemaekers

Junior Messias has convinced AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli that he can play an important tactical role in his side, a report claims.

Messias arrived in the summer from Crotone and he took some time to put together a run of games after suffering injury problems, but La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report that the Brazilian has now convinced Pioli.

The Milan boss is letting the 30-year-old play continuously and he now considers him a candidate to start on the right wing every week like Alexis Saelemaekers. Of course, the eventual choice of the Rossoneri coach depends on the match and the tactical need.

That is because there is ‘more imagination and unpredictability’ with Messias, who has scored more goals in fewer minutes this season, while the Belgian gives more balance and defensive cover.

Messias therefore has won one battle, which is to win the trust of Pioli, but now he must also convince the management to sign him outright once the season ends.
