GdS: Milan pushing ahead with €60m double deal – a sign of Elliott’s intentions and investment

AC Milan will have a big budget for the summer transfer window to invest in the squad and take it up another level, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport talks about a €100m transfer warchest with Spurs’ Steven Bergwijn and Reims’ Hugo Ekitike being targets for the attack, while there are a couple of deals that are already in an advanced state.

The first is for Sven Botman of Lille who Milan are willing to spend €30m on because they consider the 22-year-old to be a safe long-term bet, while the player himself is ready to move on as he has dreams of being in Van Gaal’s plans for the World Cup in Qatar.

Then there is another Lille star in Renato Sanches who Milan want to replace Kessie, and again they are willing to send €30m to Les Dogues thus making it a €60m double deal involving the French side, with relations between the clubs excellent as seen in the Leao, Djalo and Maignan deals.

The amounts mentioned above show how much the Elliott fund are now involved in Milan and in trying to get them back to the very elite in Europe. Paul Singer remains interested in the club but busy with many other businesses, while there is no denying the interest of Gordon Singer, who had lunch with the team at Milanello before the derby and wants to help bolster the squad.
