PM: Milan could make attempt to sign PSG’s Di Maria on a free transfer

AC Milan could look to add some more experience to their forward line as they are monitoring Angel Di Maria’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain, a report claims.

Milan have had problems in the No.10 role for most of the season given that Brahim Diaz has struggled for form over the last few months and there is no obvious back-up to him aside from Rade Krunic and the inexperienced Daniel Maldini, with Yacine Adli out on loan for the season.

PianetaMilan report that Milan could look to PSG in their attempts to boost the quality of the role by signing a player who is out of contract at the end of the season: Angel Di Maria. The Argentine has not yet renewed his contract with the Parisians for another year and there is nothing to suggest he will do so either.

Although he is 34, he would certainly be a big leap in quality for the playmaker role and can even play as a right winger, so he is ideal for Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1. A team as young as Milan lacks experience of the top competitions such as the Champions League, so that too would be useful.

Di Maria’s salary might not be such a huge problem either because he currently earns €7.5m net per season which could be cut, while Milan could take advantage of the Growth Decree for tax relief if he signed for two or more years.
