CM.it: Milan could go back in for summer midfield target amid PSG struggles

AC Milan failed in their pursuit of Renato Sanches in the summer but they could well go back in for him this summer, according to a report.

As Calciomercato.it report, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara had plenty of time to try and get their hands on a new midfielder to replace Franck Kessie given his decision to leave on a free transfer and they settled on Renato Sanches as the main target.

However, the change of ownership and the negotiation for the renewal of the two directors effectively blocked the situation and in the end Sanches decided to join PSG where things have not gone well.

There could be a revolution in the French capital with Christophe Galtier at risk of being sacked as head coach and the summer singings would thus also come under scrutiny, especially if they have contributed little like Sanches.

Milan did not end up finding a real replacement for Kessie and could therefore try to sign the Portuguese midfielder again. Personal terms were agreed more than once with the former Lille man and so re-establishing contacts does not appear so difficult, but competitors like Inter could well emerge.
