Mundo Deportivo report that Asensio’s contract with Real Madrid will expire at the end of the season and the Spaniard is yet to find out what his future will be, although there are teams interested in him if he were to leave on a free.

The report claims that Los Blancos’ big rivals Barcelona are keen on bringing him across the Clasico divide, while Milan and Juventus in Serie A are keen, with the three teams watching closely to see what happens to the 26-year-old.

There were rumours over the summer suggesting Asensio could leave the truth is that Real Madrid did not receive any firm offer. The player stayed at the white club hoping to get more minutes to get a place in the Spain squad for the World Cup, but he has 10 appearances and all have been off the bench.

It is a situation that suggests Asensio would currently lean towards leaving Real Madrid who, for now, have not presented him with any renewal offer. However, all that can change as Carlo Ancelotti admitted.

“Marco is a player in the squad. It is true that he has played very little, but he shows that he can play. In the few minutes that I have given him, he has been decisive and he will have more minutes in the future. We haven’t talked about the contract because he’s a player I trust. After the World Cup we’ll talk about his contract situation,” he said.
