CM.it: Milan impressed by Moroccan midfielder in Belgium win – €15m deal could be explored

Hakim Ziyech is not the only Morocco international that AC Milan have their eye on as a Fiorentina midfielder is also attracting interest, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com writes how everyone talked about the great performances of Ziyech and Achraf Hakimi during Morocco’s famous 2-0 win over Belgium, but Sofyan Amrabat made the difference in midfield with his work rate and his quality.

Milan, Inter and above all Napoli were fans of Amrabat when he was playing for Hellas Verona but it was Fiorentina who bought him. However, his adventure in Florence may have come to an end as the 26-year-old has a contract expiring in 2024 so without an extension La Viola must consider selling.

The report mentions that the scouting department at Casa Milan have noticed Amrabat’s performances both for Fiorentina but also at the World Cup, and the excellent relationship between his agents and the Rossoneri management could make the difference.

Amrabat will continue to be observed by the Milan staff, while there is a constant dialogue open with his agency as seen through the loan of Sergino Dest. In the first part of the season Milan showed that they have some problems in the midfield given Aster Vranckx has rarely played while Tommaso Pobega and Rade Krunic have completely different characteristics.

Amrabat has a valuation of around €15m but in the summer – one year from the deadline of his contract – he could cost even less.
