The dialogue between the Milan Council and the two clubs to define the sale of the San Siro stadium and surrounding areas continues incessantly. Yesterday, a fundamental meeting was held at the City Hall, lasting about two and a half hours.
According to what is reported by La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com), the meeting was defined as positive: the common objective is to identify a shared figure to define the purchase of the current San Siro by the two clubs.
A potential meeting point
As always, we start from the official valuation provided by the Revenue Agency, which is equal to €197m for the purchase of the stadium and surrounding land. However, the paper claims that it is not a given that this will be the final figure of the sale.
It is not excluded that it could be slightly lower, but this is being discussed in depth. In fact, we are talking about all the variables to consider: from the costs of any environmental clean-ups to, above all, those related to the demolition of the stadium.
The Council – despite having as its ultimate goal that of protecting the public interest – seems willing to mediate in order to close the deal positively and ensure the active presence of Inter and Milan in the purchasing company.
The meeting is an important step forward in defining the operation, in view of the deadline set for July 31 to find a definitive agreement. The parties will meet again, but in the meantime the president of Milan, Paolo Scaroni, said: “Work in progress. I am always optimistic.”
