According to a report from SpazioMilan, the defensive department is a real concern for Milan as Pierre Kalulu will be out for a while longer, Marco Pellegrino is recovering from a broken foot while Simon Kjaer can’t stay fit for a long stretch of games any more.

As a result, Milan will be active on the transfer market again in January with some names that are already clear targets and others that are just ideas for now. Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani have a budget established, which they must stick to, even if Gerry Cardinale wants the best for his team.

The name of Jaka Bijol has emerged as an option for the centre-back position. The Slovenian central defender has a relatively accessible asking price, which could favour the development of a negotiation.

Bijol arrived in Italy in 2022 having played for CSKA Moscow and Hannover previously, among others, and Milan are willing to offer €15m to Udinese for the 24-year-old as per the report. The Friulians could be open to the sale, even if they would prefer to sell their in the summer given he is a starter.
