Di Marzio: Milan make offer for Zaniolo but Roma are not convinced by formula or figures

More updates arrived regarding AC Milan’s interest in signing Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma as there is still work to be done, a report claims.

According to what Gianluca Di Marzio who spoke on Sky (via MilanNews), Milan are continuing to work to sign Zaniolo. The Rossoneri management met with the player’s entourage, discussing a loan with an obligation to buy deal which would depend on qualification for the Champions League and the player’s appearances.

However, the problem is linked to the formula, which Roma do not intend to accept because they want a guaranteed sale for the 23-year-old. The Giallorossi are asking for €40m too, which could come down to €35m.

On the other hand, Milan are offering €18-19m plus bonuses that would make the total amount €22m, as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara believe that eventually Roma will be required to lower their demands due to Zaniolo’s desire to leave and his contract situation (expires in 2024).
