Di Marzio: Milan protagonists ahead of summer window – Asensio, Berardi, Renato Sanches and more

There are several players who could be protagonists of the summer transfer window and AC Milan are expected to make numerous editions.

Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews) gives an update on who Milan are targeting, starting with Sven Botman. Maldini and Massara have long identified him as the perfect defender for the future, and the Dutch centre-back has already given preference to the Rossoneri over Newcastle. The management are seeking an economic agreement with Lille and the probable change of ownership could speed up the operation.

Marco Asensio is another player that Milan want. The winger could leave Real Madrid and the Rossoneri tried to sign him without success last year. Milan who could now try again, and the will of the player – who changed agents to Jorge Mendes – will be fundamental.

Meanwhile, Alessio Romagnoli is set to leave unless he renews his contract with Milan. The club captain has been linked with Lazio but they presented a lower offer than the proposal from Maldini and Massara, so every road is still open and even a two or three-year renewal cannot be ruled out, especially with the player wants to stay.

Domenico Berardi is a name that Milan are interested in, but Sassuolo have always been an expensive shop, and Napoli are also keen on signing him.

Finally, Milan have put Renato Sanches at the top of their wish list to replace Franck Kessie and in the coming weeks they will try again having agreed a fee with Lille in January. However, the report mentions to beware of the competition, given that the Portuguese also really like Juventus.
