Calciomercato.com writes that the Champions League will be a fundamental springboard for Milan as Ivan Gazidis made it clear yesterday that there will be the possibility to build an even stronger team thanks to the new revenues coming from the top premier club competition.

One of the main focuses remains a new right winger but it is likely that a signing in that area will be postponed until next summer unless an opportunity emerges in January that cannot be turned down.

Milan were thinking of Asensio as a target and despite having a direct line to his agent Jorge Mendes and some recent contacts, the idea of signing the Spaniard is moving further and further away.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara had thought of him as a big-name signing for the attack and were teased by the possibility of being able to get him on a free transfer.

However, Real Madrid have presented a new offer for a three-year renewal and the parties are not so far from reaching an agreement, so the Rossoneri are looking elsewhere.
