The Sun recall that Milan were close to signing the USA international left-back three years ago and even flew him over for a medical, but the move ended up being called off because the medical showed a heart problem.

However, the 25-year-old has continued his development since and is now a starter with Fulham in the Premier League, having also shown glimpses of his quality in the USA’s run to the knockout stages of the World Cup.

Inter are keen on the former Wigan man but Milan have reacted to this by reignited their interest in signing Robinson as cover with France’s Theo Hernandez.

The report adds that Milan could buy Robinson and loan him out, but that might now convince him and he may hold out to see which Premier League clubs are interested next summer.
