The Charles De Ketelaere signing required a big investment and now Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will have to spend the remaining budget wisely, a report claims.

MilanNews reported that the transfer fee for De Ketelaere is €32m fixed plus €3m bonuses and as part of that Club Brugge will also receive 12.5% on the profit of a possible future resale.
According to Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) this morning, the big outlay for De Ketelaere means that there is not much of a budget remaining for the two positions that need to be addressed, namely the centre-back and central midfielder roles.
The paper states that there is only around €8-9m of remaining budget available for transfer fees and that amount will be used by Maldini and Massara to reinforce the midfield, which means that they are only on the hunt for defenders who could arrive on an initial loan deal.
