MN: Renato Sanches and Chukwuemeka fade but Milan need a midfielder – the targets

AC Milan have turned to the signing of a new midfielder having got the deal for Charles De Ketelaere over the line, but their targets keep changing.

According to MilanNews, Renato Sanches is one step away from joining PSG and Carney Chukwuemeka will officially move to Chelsea for €24m which means that the wish list of players to replace Franck Kessie has got shorter by two.

Now Milan will have to consider new options for their midfield because Franc Kessie’s farewell has left a gap that needs to be filled both technically but also numerically given the cramped schedule until the World Cup and also given that the team are likely to play close to 50 games in 2022-23.

Among the profiles that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking at is Seko Fofana of RC Lens and formerly of Udinese, but the 27-year-old has been linked with a number of top clubs and will not be an easy pursuit. Pape Matar Sarr (19) of Spurs is another player on the new list.
