It gets to a point where things are so bad they are laughable, and Milan reached that stage months ago. Throughout the year, there have been so many occasions where things have gone as wrong as can be, and yet it still has somehow managed to get worse.
Serie A, for example, out of the Scudetto race, turned into the Champions League and then Europe completely. The Coppa Italia, a chance to find some salvation, nah.
It goes outside of football too, the renewals of Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan, both could have been wrapped up months ago, neither has been. Then, the situation with the sporting director. Laughable, amateurish, and you think it can’t get worse. It does.
So, Peppe Di Stefano has taken stock of the multiple situations and wrongdoings of this year, and his words to Sky have been relayed by Milan News.
“A terrible week, all the knots have come to a head. It was complicated to get almost everything wrong this year: maybe it’s due to a lack of planning or bad luck, but Milan have succeeded.
“In the choice of coaches, in the unbalanced divisions of power within the club, the management of Camarda, the summer and winter transfer market, the management of Milan Futuro. What worries most is not playing in Europe but the thought of tomorrow, the prospects of this Milan.
“It seems that nothing is clear yet: there is still no director, a coach has not yet been identified, not even the balance of power within the ownership.”
