MN: Demiral will not arrive but Milan remain hopeful of last-minute loan

For several weeks the AC Milan management have been looking for a new central defender to try boost the options available to Stefano Pioli, but it looks like their search will yield nothing.

As MilanNews recalls, in recent days the name of Merih Demiral has been repeatedly linked with Milan but at present there is no chance that he will arrive between now and tomorrow’s 20:00 CET deadline.

The reasons are those that have been documented in recent hours: first of all the excessively high salary of the Turkey international who currently earns €13m net per season at Al-Ahli, and then the fact that the Saudi club are not even open to a sale let alone a loan.

As mentioned, the mercato closes tomorrow night and Milan are working to try to find a last minute loan deal. However, the Rossoneri management has no intention of signing a player just for the sake of it.

This is something that CEO Giorgio Furlani also confirmed a few days ago: “We have no urgency to do something just for the sake of doing it.”

So if an interesting opportunity arises in the next few hours, Milan will be ready, otherwise the Milan squad will remain as it is.
