MN: Milan considering Dybala swoop – the pros and cons of the operation

The speculation linking AC Milan with a move for Paulo Dybala are growing, and there are some obvious pros and cons to a potential deal.

MilanNews reports that Dybala has been in talks with Inter but after sealing the return of Romelu Lukaku, they must offload Edin Dzeko, Joaquin Correa and/or Alexis Sanchez before moving more concretely for La Joya, who is impatient and is beginning to look around.

Pros: The Argentine is asking for €7-7.5m net per season, but no club have come forward with that and therefore he will have to review his wage demands. If he does, then it would at least be logical for Milan to try.

He is a strong player who brings quality, enthusiasm, experience, and perhaps most importantly goals and assists. He could be regenerated by a new environment and the chance to make Juve and Inter regret, and he knows about winning trophies.

Against: There are some doubts related to physical condition given his injury problems last season, and also Dybala’s tactical position in Pioli’s 4-2-3-1. He can dynamically interpret the role of being a No.10, but perhaps doesn’t offer the same guarantees in terms of coverage that others did.

Another doubt is about whether alternative investments like Charles De Ketelaere, in terms of age and potential, would perhaps be the ideal plan for the future. However, there must be a balance between youth and experience, potential and guaranteed quality.
