Christian Pulisic’s early goals against Liverpool and Inter gave AC Milan back-to-back perfect starts and showed that he can very much be the man for the big occasion.

MilanNews report that since the start of the 2023-24 season, no Serie A player has been involved in more goals than Christian Pulisic across all competitions: 31 (19 goals and 12 assists), equal to Lautaro Martínez (27 goals and four assists).

It is a significant statistic which shows that the American winger is as decisive as Lautaro, the striker and captain of the reigning Italian Champions and the man who was voted the MVP of the league last season.

Pulisic has been playing much more centrally this year but his effectiveness in terms of goals has not seemed to suffer: he is already at four goals in six games, including two in the aforementioned big matches.

Milan, among other things, have the best attack in the league with 11 goals and nine different scorers: Alvaro Morata, Noah Okafor, Pulisic, Strahinja Pavlovic, Rafael Leao, Matteo Gabbia, Theo Hernandez, Tammy Abraham and Youssouf Fofana.

With this red hot start to the season, Pulisic is not only proving to be a big-game player but also that he is looking to improve on an excellent debut season. With four goals and two assists in six games so far, the Torino match in round one remains the only one where he hasn’t contributed to a goal.
